Episode 2

One of the best!
From "Sister Wendy" like art reviews to underground drug deals, this movie takes you from the English countryside to the New York streets and a WW2 art theft. Helen Mirren make an incredible transformation from a washed up jazz singer to art dealer in an effort to find a murderer and ends up undercover in an art mystery. The music by Jenny Darren is worth the price all by itself.
Watch for the occational surprise, there are several scenes set up to look like great paintings. This movie is just plain fun! Although I would rate it R for an uncomfortably graphic homo erotic scene, not over the top, but not for kids. The specific scene is a set up for a tableau of Saint Sabastian by the murderer. There is one art lecture not to be missed, you will be able to pronounce Judith slaying Holofernes by Artemisia Gentileschi, just like an art critic!
This movie was done by the BBC for Masterpiece Mystery years ago, I haven't seen it since, I was thrilled to find it, and it was...

But her character is one of those fantasies who, despite having a history of near-fatal substance abuse which also destroyed her career, is irresistible to all she meets, to the extent that an ex-boyfriend hands over a gun to her, no questions asked.

Another plot issue involves the Franco Nero character. While it...

Where are closed captions
While I thoroughly enjoyed the Painted Lady, I remain unsatisfied with Amazon streaming product.

The worst part is there is not the ability to display closed captions. I love British films and TV but my ears do not allow good enough definition to understand all the dialogue.

Next Amazon streaming lacks a good ability to search films using categories that are more relevant.
